I repla...Thanks, I happen to own one of these saws. I replaced the original tension rod on my G-530 with a steel one plus two small washers and wingnuts. Like you I shimmed the blade to keep it centered, but with plastic spacers/sleeves from the hardware store. To protect and keep the blade from rattling I use sections of automobile door edge protectors.
